I picture these as useful on (benchtop) routering when edging all 4 sides of a square piece.Previously I had used something like the rubber mat to hold the workpiece.These cookies appear better because of their thickness and their elevation of the project higher than the rubber mat. So if I win a set, I will put them to use, and retire the rubber mat.
