I am a beginning woodworker who is building a workshop in my garage and increasing my skills through small projects. Recently, I acquired my great, great grandfather's tool box and an assortment of woodworking tools that he used in the carpentry trade when he lived in southern Virginia. I hope to soon have the planes, bit and brace, and chisels restored for use.

It's interesting to see how craftsmen left their work to take up arms, and in some cases left their workshops to do woodworking on the battlelines.

I would love a set of Veritas saws. I'm pretty new to the craft and would like to work with some quality tools.

Paul,
posted: 9:05 pm on December 10thI like your end-table-lamp. The Leg frame is my favorite part of the design. The finish is very nice. I imagine this piece would look equally nice a just an end-table with the space occupied by the lamp being a storage area, perhaps with cubbies, for books, magazines, etc. Where does the power cord go?

Re: Horseshoe Armchair
Excellent chair!. The exaggerated bent back splats are my favorite part. They draw my eye up the chair.

This is a fine table. I enjoyed the contrasting wood selection. The legs just proud of the rails are a nice design touch.

I have an identical morris chair in my home except with green, leather cushions. The through mortise tennon joints look very nice. I prefer the bow arm design you used over the slanted arm. You've made a very nice morris chair.
