Re: How to Win $1.5-Million: Lessons from the Tablesaw Lawsuit
Recently there was a post showing a new method of kick back protection.A plate that pops up to protect the user.Does any any one know if Steve Gass is in contract talks to add this technology to his SAWSTOP Saws. He was quick to point out how he was not taken seriously by the the big manufactures and how happy he was with the result of this lawsuit. Now it is his turn to step up and do what he preaches. For the record I would love to have one of his saws, but I like the JET that I have. Would I be liable if I sold or gave my saw to someone else without warning them that they could get hurt using this out dated equipment (its 10 years old). Also automatic feeders have been available for years and your hand never has to come near the blade. Why wasn't this been made standard safety equipment? It would only add a couple of hundred bucks. (If a lawyer uses this idea I only want 10% of the settlement)
