Cutting up large sheets of plywood is safe and easy if you use the proper tool for the job. The proper tool for the job is not a tablesaw. As others have noted, a guided/track/plunge saw, such as those made by Festool, DeWalt, and Makita, is the best tool for this job. Yes, they are somewhat expensive.
