It would be interesting to compare the details in the
posted: 7:38 am on February 18thBoulle marquetry between the two tables, as in the
XVII'th the blades were much larger than a jeweller's
blade (they were about a #5 blade).
The marquetry donkey was introduced
much later (later XVIIIth early XIXth), the original
was most probably cut with a hand fretsaw.
Just a last question, why use french polish?
(even if it looks great, it is not a technique
of the period, it was discovered about mid-XIXth).
The pair is indeed a great piece of work. Congratulations
