Re: Handplanes in Springfield
I know what you are doing and for me it has worked Very well.
posted: 4:17 pm on December 31stI have many restore planes and I have had good luck with them. After getting a # 4,5,6 Baileys Planes from different yard sale I went to. I now use them all the time(for less then a new plane would cost for "one").
Using the info from FineWW was a big help after that. a day in the shop working and a can of spray paint the plane is back to new.
Thank you

Re: Who Begot Who? Comparing Planes from Lie-Nielsen, Wood River and Stanley
Hello everyone I find it a good read when these sort of talks come up in the world of W.W. For me you get what you paid for!
posted: 12:25 pm on June 4thThere is nothing like high quailty tools, however if you want a price point, then look to your "yard sale " / Antiques stores.
I have right now a Number 4,5 & 6 Baily planes for under $200.00 and with some time cleaning up / truning up.
So now what I would get in my planes is a bevel up from L.V. not a off shore model:)
Sorry not with the time.

I like what way you put your bench together, very nice. It is one of the better design I have seen.
By the way nice trick with the dove-tail legs:)

Re: Tablesaw techniques I wouldn't recommend
Hello everybody:)
posted: 12:46 pm on March 4th"WE" all know as W.W. that there is so many things wrong here.
I did a quick read over of the posting and found that you MISS IT.. Let me inform you as you saw him start out with trying to repair the motor himself. Him seem like alot of use "sometime" we think this is not so bad, until we are well over our heads in to project. Second he never fixed the motor before he used it, again or even had it check out by someone who knew motors.
Let use remeber to let it be done by people who know what they are doing until you have learned it SAFETY :)
