I made our bed from standing dead cherry trees found in the forest by my home in Vermont.  I enjoyed stripping off the rotted bark and sap wood and ending with a silky smooth finish...

I like the design, I'd be a bit worried about the sharp corners catching my shin as a walk about in the dark though.
