I took an apprenticeship for two years at a local college in my home town. After the apprenticeship I joined the Army, currently serving in Germany. I try my best to fit woodworking into my life while balancing family life, deployments, military schools, and preparing for my dream to have a professional furniture cabinet shop once I retire. Have a blessed day friends.

(The Plane in my Avatar is a Sogard block plane that I found while in IRAQ on a patrol, it’s been a great tool with a great story)

Re: We're Giving Away Grooving Planes!

Seriously? You just did'nt ask me if I actually made these myself?

Re: Ideas for Woodworking's Own Reality TV

I think a show that shows what can be done by the weekend warrior from a master woodworkers perspective would go a long way. The target audience would be the general public that doesn't know what a Bailey plane is, or the difference between a mortise or bench chisel. From episode to episode cover the gambit of all skills from fine cut dovetails to but joints re-enforced with screws. But the most important thing is to capture the heart of woodworking, the reason why we all sawdust slinger's pursue the journey.

Re: Shop cabinet done right

Look wonderful friend! Even if it gets dented and chipped just add a different coat of paint or something and build the layers up. Shoot who knows it may end up as a treasured piece that your family owns down the road. Great..Great..Great.. once stored his woodworking tools in this. Just as in life you never know how things end, and what you may think insignificant may become some ones treasure.

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: 500 Chairs and 500 Tables

I will be deployed when this contest is over, blessing to the one who wins.

Re: Bench Cookie Giveaway

What a great way to get us WW'ers to update our info! My avatar is a block plane that I found in Iraq on patrol. The name on the plane is SOGUARD made in the USA. I just thought it was cool to have a woodworking momento from war.
