Re: Behold, the Speed Tenon

I had thought this technique was ancient when he was in diapers. It is so old and so used that I thought surely it must be ingrained in our genetic code by now. What is the big deal? I first used this in 1952 or 1955, I dont remember exactly, been too long.
He forgot to use a cover board/scrap to protect against slipping and other mishaps. Simply clamp a scrap of board along the fence high enough off the table to clear the tenoned board and wide enough to cover the max length of the tenon.

Re: Gilded Writing Desk

This is the kind of furniture I wish I had. Very impressive, I love it.

Re: Holiday Tree Ornament

Beautiful. What a delecate piece.

Re: Serving tray

Kudo's, I am aware of the time and care that this type of work entails. I am impressed, beautiful work. Wish I had that kind of patience.

Re: guitar

Thank you for the compliments. The guitars (I made 13 of them) are for my children and grandchildren. They take an average of three months each, though I usually have a dozen or so in the works at any one time. I do that so I can keep busy while the glue cures.
The tone of this one was rather dissappointing. Usually they are soft and reedy sounding. This one sounds sweet without the reedy, it is Ok, good actually, but not what I wanted to hear.
I am starting another batch today, same style, three sizes, parlor (15" body length), concert (19" body), and grand concert (21.5" body). These will be for sale.
