saw stop blade brake being engaged. The blade goes from spinning to impacting the alum brake as the blade is dropped below the table's surface.

Re: We're Giving Away Grooving Planes!

Now without even looking you can easily make a groove in your board...or hand. Yeeeeouch!!!! Someone please get the first aid kit! Our next shop project will be the revered wood stretcher.

Re: You Want What? Contest

This was one of my many crazy ideas. It now threatens people in my living room. It was built while in college as a competition peice. It had a lot of input from my wife, who was then my fiance.

I only wish it could move in its own accord! Peolpe still ask what it is. And when they see it moves they are often left speakless. If was fun to build. Hope you all enjoy

Re: BOOK GIVEAWAY: 500 Tables (Updated with winner)

It is easy, while in the workshop, to let your mind wonder and start day dreaming about the next great tool you‘ll purchase or that great project you have been trying to wrap you head around. It is a good thing Greg is just doing some tool setup. Earth to Greg? Greg!? Over here, Greg. Float back down to the shop and let’s get back to business.

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Made By Hand by Tom Fidgen

After years of power tooling my way around the shop, I'm finally learning to enjoy the quiet, relaxing nature of hand work.

Re: UPDATED: Giveaway and Poll: The Most Requested Woodworking Gifts of 2009

I used to ask for a lot. Somthing like this

Power Wood Shop Tools
Grizzly 8” Jointer- G0586
Milwaukee 1/2 in. Magnum® Drill, 300-20

Woodworking Hand Tools
Hock Hand Plane kit
Parallel Jaw clamps (Bessey, Jorgensen or Jet)
Norton Flattening Stone

Finishing
Painter’s Pyramids
Disposable Paper Strainers
Graduated mason jars (16-32oz, preferably wide mouth)

But after I lost my job back in July and have been working on contract 2 hours away. All I want is to get a good job where I can come home every night to my shop and more importantly my family.
