Re: Is the Radial Arm Saw on its Last Legs?
There are lots of used RAS out there at prices from $100 to $350 and I just saw one in a thrift store for $325. I happened to get mine for free as the previous owner simply wanted more room in his garage and knew that I was a wood worker. I had been looking for one anyways. So I brought it home and tuned in up by making sure it had a good quality, sharp, 40 tooth blade and squaring it to the table both vertically and horizontally. My dad has always had one so I know it's value and how to make good use of it. It is my go to saw for cross cutting, especially for multiple identical length cuts. I also made my own base cabinet on casters with storage making it mobile and handy.
