I have been an avid woodworker for many years and enjoy the time I spend machining, building, and designing cabinetry and other useful items for the house. My workshop currently is on the back porch and in the garage, with a dirt floor, both out of my wife's way (and living room).

If I could have one wish come true for a dream career it wood be to have a cabinet shop. However,as I am aware, be careful what you wish for because then it could become a job with all the other responsibilities such as the financial worries, deadlines etc. I am currently employed at an Oil Refinery in Northwestern, PA as an Electrical Engineer in charge of the Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance Department. Its fun too...but.

I recently moved here from South Carolina and although the winters are harsh, to me, the abundance of amazing hardwood choices are astronomical. When the time comes and the winters are unbearable and I long for the sounds of the South, I hopefully, will have amassed a bounty of lumber to take HOME with me (the wife may have to leave some things behind, hope its not me).

I enjoy different constructions. I'm sure these books will deliver some different perspectives from a art standpoint.

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Modern Cabinet Work by Percy A. Wells and John Hooper

I would love to win this book. If this doesn't happen I will buy a copy. FWW has the best articles of any of the publications that I subscribe to. I have to thank Norm for re-kindling a love in me for fine wood working like the fondness my father has and his father had.

Thanks To Norm. I will still watch all his repeats over and over.
