Haven't won anything since that free trip to Okinawa in 1972. ;-)

Re: Tablesaw Safety Goes Under the Microscope--Again
I have had a 3hp Jet cabinet saw for 8 years - added a riving knife to it, but no blade guard. Still have all my digits cause' I back off when I feel the (stupid!) tingle.
posted: 11:01 pm on February 10thParts are replaceable - it will outlast me. Still, if I ever decide to replace it I'll buy a Sawstop, because safe is good. The cost difference is nothing if you prorate it over the life of the saw. Or compare it to the cost of finger replacement. Blades are a hundred bucks - also cheaper than a finger.
If you want to stick with the(stupid!)tingle you can buy a used saw from somebody that's buying a safe saw. There will be plenty out there for a long time to come. Legislate away!
Re: More Details on the Carlos Osorio Tablesaw Lawsuit
I have a Jet table saw in the basement. No guard on it.
posted: 7:08 pm on May 10thAlso a Makita portable saw - same deal. How big a piece of me do I need to cut off? Which company will pay the most??
Was that my outside voice??
It's only a matter of time before someone disables a Saw Stop saw and removes a body part. Using this case as precedent
a jury would have to find for the injured party again.
Seriously - I hope One World appeals this one. And hires better legal staff. Unbelievable.
