Re: Alder Buffet
Wow! Beautiful touch with the applique grass or wheat theme. Nice balance. Beautiful piece! Does it break down into 3 pieces or is it one large piece now.

Looks great to me. It appears to have alot of insight in the implementation. The wood all looks beautiful. I noticed the smaller doors up top and not oversized wall cabinet doors for the added shelving. Requires a pretty good reach, but adds nice storage.

Re: UPDATE: Book Giveaway: Modern Cabinet Work by Percy A. Wells and John Hooper
It is a good privilege to be able to return to the studies and works of those who really lived the work of the cabinetmaker; the craft will never have the gravity on man's direction as it once did. We can learn dear lessons born from a generation which had to make it work, and work right. It was the best they had to offer and the sustenance for life. In a couple words, devotion and integrity in their effort given each and every working day.

I find a core which seeks fairness through integrity and principled learning/training. A rationale for action, not just money, either. Moreso, I find a strong belief in striving to find a better world for each and every man via good work. Cabinetry is a wonderful place to pursue great social changes. Let us never fear to return to our roots, and help us learn significance from those who have gone before us.
Re: Bench Cookies in Action
Credit must be given to Mr. Frank Strazza of the CFEE School of woodworking near Waco TX. What a very neat demonstration of good technique mixed with good simple tools. He makes it appear simple; a good and wise teacher.
