Re: More Details on the Carlos Osorio Tablesaw Lawsuit

I own a Saw Stop Table Saw and find it to be not only a safer saw due to it's Stop Cartridge, but extremely well built and a pure joy to use. I didn't buy this saw for it's safety features, I bought it because it's a very good saw, the safety feature is a bonus to my 53 year old fingers.

It seems obvious to me the employee did not have enough training, on the table saw, and therefore the accident is more the fault of the company he worked for and not the saw maker. However the employer's business would be insured by some form of worker's compensation insurance company who would be strongly in favor of passing the buck in the direction of the tool maker or the employee at fault.

As was stated by an attorney on this forum, before my post, there is much more to this story than meets the eye!
Mr.Glass, a lawyer and CEO of Saw Stop needs to pick his words more carefully, or spend the money to hire a pro to help him out in this department. Perhaps he was quoted out of context to help this storyline gain some heat? Either way he didn't do himself any favors!

For those of you that base your saw buying purchases on the fear mongering of the 'Big Brother is out to get you' theory
as proposed in the multiple posts I've read on this page. I suggest you wake up and smell the roses, compare saws for fit and finish and how it cuts wood, never mind the gimmicks!!!

Re: Grizzly Shipping to Canada

I'm luck enough to live 20 mins from the border and just under an hour from my front door to the Grizzly store in Bellingham Washington. I and my fellow WW buddies have purchased many big ticket items from the Grizz over the last few years, when the Can$ is strong. These guys are the Lee Valley of the US, very good people, good product, great service.

UPS on the other had is the worst choice for shipment of anything across the US/Canadian border, bar none! Their
outrageous brokerage fees are a total game of gouging. Take it from one that imports many items for both hobby & profession. UPS is to be avoided at all costs when dealing with cross border exchange. Have whatever you're buying shipped US Postal Service, especially smaller items. Failing that deal with a brokerage firm at the border, like Pacific Custom Brokers, call them first and they'll inform you how to ship and who to use, to avoid the big brown ripoff.
