I am also one of the ones who have been doing this for a long time without ever having a problem. If you can't stay focused on what your doing you are going to hurt no matter the tool and you have no business being around anything sharp or moving. Yes, it should go in the magazine with a link to this video.

This is a good idea but for those of us who don't use the guard a better device would trigger the brake when our fingers came in contact with the blade insert.

I'm other one of those guys who got cut on a tablesaw. All it took was a fraction of a second of inattention. Since SawStop came out it's been high on my list of wants. I haven't bought one yet but their advertising campaign has made me more aware of the dangers and made me a safer woodworker in the process.
