Re: Day 7 Building a Workbench: Finishing Up

Just wanted to clarify a few things- The bench top was sanded to 80 grit thru the Timesaver- it still needs to be planed/ scraped and /or sanded smoother- I would clean off the bench very well with a brush and then use a smoothing plane to bring the top to final surface.
Roundover of parts is up to you. We actually used a 1/16" and a 1/8" roundover bit- not 1/4" which would be way too much.
It was a fun class- lots of work but lots of reward. I am planning on doing the class agian next summer- keep an eye out at www.schoolofwoodworking.com for the complete schedule of summer classes - should be posted by the beginning of December

Re: Seymour Federal Dressing Chest with Mirror

Great job John.
Freddy Roman is the guy you are talking about who made the piece. He graduated from Phil's school about two years ago. He is working in Mass and he assists in many of the classes taught by Will Neptune, Steve Latta and Phil Lowe at my school in Ct.(www.schoolofwoodworking.com). I would post the picture of his piece if I could figure out how...
