Re: Dad's Table

Very nice. I particularly like the curve of the legs and the inlayed top. Dad should be very happy. bob.

Re: Maple Library

Great looking work. I particularly like the way you not only took the built-in across the doorway wall, but also wrapped it around the corner. Very nice job. Bob.

Re: Makita shows off new 10-inch slider at AWFS Fair

I have this saw and I'm generally satisfied with it. The one problem I ran into was with the adjustment stop that is used for making dados. I found that this moved unintentionaly and caused kickback when the stop bumped the rear housing instead of going inside the housing as intended for normal cutting. What happens is if you connect a vacuum hose to the saw the hose would inadvertently push the adjustment lever (when the saw is moved left to right for miter cuts)and cause the saw to stop short when sliding to the rear and then result in a kickback. I had to place a piece of folded sandpaper in the adjustment slot and tighten the screw to prevent it from moving. If someone has a better solution to correct this problem I would like to hear it. Thanks, Bob.
