In junior high school became shop assistant and have been interested in wood working all my life. Hope retirement will come soon and I can take on some challenging woodworking projects.

I appreciate you comment that you need to try and practice in order to achieve acceptable or better yet exceptional results. I have also started "practicing" techniques as apposed to diving straight into a project.

On the topic of the long miters you suggested cutting the mire slightly uner 45 degrees (ie 44'49") in order to get a tighter "exposed edge". Shouldn't this be slightly greater angle?
