I glued up strips of American Sycamore, then crosscut kerfs in which I inserted contrasting strips of wood, repeating this process from varying angles. Bloodwood blocks were inserted randomly, and...
Eye Candy
I came up with this concept several months back. You see, like most woodworkers, I too had been saving the small cut offs of many types of woods, some even having inlays in them and they reminded me...
Bad Moon Rising

"Dunes"
I designed this box to express how a visit to the ocean makes me feel. The wind blown sand, surf, driftwood.I like the organic, natural feel to this box...it encourages people to touch it.
"Deco"
I designed this panel style box to express some of the Art Deco style.I wanted to make a box that was formal in design then shape it free form, a contradiction.
Arts and Crafts table
This is my interpretation of a Craftsman style table with elements from Greene and Greene added in. Quarter sawn white oak accented with bloodwood and walnut, and an antler handle. This was a gift...
Retro

Re: Spiral End Mallet
I love the pattern. I also want to whack something with this. I dont own a lathe, but I think it would be very easy to get addicted to it though. This is a great piece and will hold its own in the contest, dont worry :-)

posted: 7:23 pm on October 2ndThis box has a Wenge body and Maple medallion inset into the lid, with Bloodwood accents.I prefer to use Deft spray lacquer for boxes, satin sheen, many coats as needed, sanded between each.(I dont use a spray booth,in fact I use the aerosol cans and set them within 5 ft of sawdust on my bench.Dust is not attracted to it like poly or oils.)
