Used to own Marples blue chip, but they went amiss. The new Marples range look cheap compared to what I used 20 years ago. In the end I settled for Ashley Iles Mk2 Bench Chisels. Made in the UK. Expensive but never looked back.
Impressive, reminds me of Green Woodworking (Mike Abbott), however this lathe is more elaborate than a pole lathe (which I love to use).
Nice article, I have found having the right sharpening tools for the job is key. Its been a long haul from old grey grinding wheels, guesswork ground angles and combination oilstones, and an old eclipse honing guide.
There are a lot more wheels, jigs and stones and guides out there today which is all good in my book.
