I used to be so fond of Birds Eye Maple but after looking as so many projects like yours the Quilted Maple is where it is at! Great job on this project. Wonderful balance of color and wood use.

Wow, another great work piece. I hope i can learn how to do that kind of joint. It looks so sharp with the Quilted Maple. I would have to agree with the rest of the comments I have read about this project. The best I have seen a real prized possession! Lucky you it has returned to you after you gave it to your BIL, but if I was him I would have made a nook in my wall just to make room for it! LOL I hope to see more of your future projects.

Can you recommend a good book to learn how to do what you have done here? I kinda understand the turning but as far as piecing the design together. Some of it is complex and would like to study the technique a little before I try it myself.
