The seven drawers/boxes in aggregate are about nine inches high at the highest point, about two and one half inches at the lowest and are thirty inches wide.  The box sizes vary with the largest about three inches high, four and one half inches wide and ten inches deep.  The smallest is less than an inch high, about four inches wide and five inches deep. The joints in all boxes are dovetailed.  The boxes are veneered inside and out with poplar; spaulted gum veneer for drawer fronts and backs; oak and sycamore for the draw sides and bottom. The pulls are hand made from brass and have a patina from ammonia. They are inserted into an ebony block. The boxes/drawers are assembled from approximately 320 parts.
