The Tea Box

This box is based on the tool box of a japanese carpenter I met once. The dovetails are handcut. Only hand tools were used in the construction of this box, except for rough dimensioning of the lumber. The box measures 4"x3.75"x10". The chip-carved symbol is the Kanji for Tea (ocha). I made it to hold my herbal tea at work. I particularly like this design because the lid is self wedging, allowing construction without hardware (nails, screws, hinges, etc.)
Design or Plan used: My own design
