Jewelry box with end grain panel retained in inlay banding. Cherry and macassar ebony case; compound mitred top section is solid cherry with maccassar ebony inlay, and the lower case is solid maccassar ebony legs and stretchers with panels veneered with a thick veneer cut from the same board as the top section. This construction allows a very tight fit  of the drawers without binding from seasonal stresses.
