When I first started carving ten years ago. I spent most of my time sharping my carving gouges. On this "Gothic cat" I diden't use any sand paper. I was really trying to make it look like old world style of craftsmanship. By showing the carving marks that gouges leave.
This "Gothic cat face was my 3rd carving that I made for myself, two years later I made a second one for a customer. I don't really like the gothic style. Butt, this cat face was a fun wall plaque to make. It's caved out of bass wood. The eyes are out of Ebony & Canary yellow wood. The size is 9"wide x 12" long x 4" deep. "Thanks for looking"
