Anniversary Box and Atzec Box
comments (1) February 27th, 2009 in Reader's Gallery
Karins box is made from Bubinga, Ebony, Lacewood, Zebrawood. Top inlay was made from the handle of a 30 year old 50cent Scrub brush. I found it in my garage behind the workbench and re-sawed it when I saw the quilted pattern and started the box from the top down. It happen to be finished at our 40th wedding anniversary.
The Atztec box was inspired by my family friend and latino painting artist Alfredo Arreguin. The "tree" on top is an Alderwood branch slice. The Pyramid stair is inserted with ebony ramps and the box is made from a solid stock.
