Guitar with Inlay
comments (0) February 17th, 2009 in Reader's Gallery
I built this 'portable' practice instrument for my daughter who loves butterflies about 7 years ago. Started from a kit just to get the top and hardware pieces since it was my first and evolved from there... The wood materials are mahogany (sides and neck), purpleheart (fretboard and saddle), walnut (headstock), and the binding is a mahogany, ebony and maple combination . The inlays are a mix of white, gold, and black mother of pearl, abalone shell, and "fools" gold.
Design or Plan used: renaissance guitar style; check the internet for sources
