These dovetails are small...the smaller drawer is about 1 1/4 wide...the drawers are also curved, so it wa a lesson in cutting dovetails in curved drawer fronts.
Back panel detail...i wanted the rail in the back panel to echo the edge of the mini-cabinet, which also meant the panel had to be carved. Pretty challenging but not as hard as one might think..

Reading James krenov's books and seeing all the furniture coming out of College of the Redwoods and Inside Passage, it was time to give it a shot. Here's what i came up with, A small wall cabinet in Pearwood, with Birch back panels and drawers. With African Padouk for the hardware. This cabinet was a lesson in high calibre woodworking and it has taught me to slow down to a snail's pace and do the best work i can. The next cabinet will only be better!

Pearwood, Birch, Padouk

Shellac, wax

10"x20"x5"

KRASSEL KRASSEL writes: Very elegant. I like that you left some of the small "flaws" in the wood exposed. The carving on the back panel was a real nice touch. It's an all round beautiful piece. Great job.
