Walnut Veneer for Your Internet Browser
comments (0) February 10th, 2009 in blogsIf you're one of the growing number of Web users who uses the Mozilla Firefox browser to surf the Web, then you might be interested in this cool add-on we came across that skins your browser with a walnut veneer.
The free download is available at Mozilla.org and only takes a few clicks to install.
It is a bit of a stretch to call this "walnut," considering it isn't a stunning example of grain and figure. But I do give the creator some credit for at least making it look like an open-grained wood.
The skin has become a cult hit with the woodworking crowd. Several woodworkers posted comments to the Mozilla site praising the add-on:
"Another life-long woodworker delighted to see this skin. Outstanding, (although the default is more quarter-sawn oak than "walnut")"
"its the best yet, of course i'm a cabinet maker..."
