Couldnt see the saw marks in the pulls till we got a digital camera.

This was my first bandsaw box. I actually made it in 2000, got a digital camera for xmas in 2003 and took the last four pics with that. Boy, digital sure show's the mistakes. The box was made with Quebracho, one of the hardest woods on the planet. Show's what an amatuer I was. I wore out a bandsaw blade cutting this thing out and believe me sandpaper barely effects it. Most of the smoothing was done with scrapers, micro planes and fine rasps. The final sanding was done by hand with "sponge" sanding blocks and took about 16 hours to work up to 220 grit. The drawers were lined with powdered flock. The whole box was finished with many coats of Howard's Feed n Wax and hand buffed. I have made many bandsaw boxes since this one and acquired more power tools to assist me, but I keep this one to remind me of the "good ol days".
