This project was built for my 5 year old grandson. It was constructed using maple and walnut at the Offutt AFB, NE Wood Shop.  The idea came from an old plan that I revised to increase wing span to 16 1/2", add shaped airfoils, mortise and tenon struts,  and turned engine, cowl, wheel and spinner details.   Joinery used in assembling the wing and tail surfaces to the fuselage took a lot of hand shaping and sanding but was worth the effort.  Finish is natural with many coats of lacquer.
