Ninor Ninor writes: You get what you pay for. Cedar will probably hold longer than Pine but for this purpose it wasn’t worthwhile. No sealant or other isolator used between the wood and the soil except for paint of course.

I would like to make some Standing Planter Boxes at different heights. I saw some online on a website, but I'm not paying $200. for just one!!! Can anyone suggest how to make them?? I'm thinking about making them in a square shape and a rectangle shape, maybe about 36" in height. I beleive Cedar is the best wood, am I right??? I was thinking about lining them with some sort of a plastic liner.

Thanks,

MsWndstr
