This is the first of three sets that I made. I made this set ten years ago. The other two I made seven years ago. All three sets are made out of American Black Walnut, & Hard Maple. The joints to the Knights and King. Are tapered & radius, with a 2" diameter walnut dowel, connecting to the legs.

john07 john07 writes: WOW...very impressive. I especially like the visual effect of the walnut-maple in the table halves. The chess pieces intrigue me, and the inlays look great. I did a chess table a few months ago, and seeing your table makes me want to do another one. I love playing chess too. Nice work Dennis.

Then I saw another chess table made from another member and I admitted that his is much better than mine. But now that I saw yours...holy friggin @#$! talk about raising the bar my friend. I have a long way to go, but very very nice work. Truly a masterpiece.
