This is a Federal Inspired Pembroke Table made while at North Bennet Street School. The entire piece is cut from a 10/4 X 20"wide Mahogany slab from Irion Lumber. Lots of resawing. Breaking with tradition, there is a drawer at each end of the table. The drawer fronts are veneered with hand cut Birch Crotch, surrounded with Bolivian Rosewood banding, and bordered with cock-beading. The legs feature stringing with a Seymour bell flower motiff. The table skirt is banded with the bolivian rosewood as are the cuffs of the tapered legs.
