'Barrister" Bookcase

This is actually intended for storage of desktop publishing materials; the bottom drawer is a full-size lateral file, the shelf above is compartmented to hold materials and the top shelves are for finished product.  The idea was a piece that doesn't look like typical computer furniture.  Constructed of cherry with birds eye maple drawer front panels, the cherry is finished with a shellac-sealed water based dye followed by two coats of gel stain and four coats of poly rubbed out with 0000steel wool and finished with two coats of wax.  The birds eye is "popped" with two coats of Tung oil, then finished with poly and wax as above.
