CarlosJD CarlosJD writes: I built one very similar. It did'nt have the protruding wedges and I used oak slats with a maple support from top to bottom. I too have been thinking about a head board. Good job on yours, I like the grain matching.

havens havens writes: Sorry that I did not reply to these comments sooner. I had, frankly, forgotten that I had posted them here. I happened across them whilst renewing my FineWoodworking.com subscription.

Emerals: I would like to see photos when you finish. I like the headboard idea. Perhaps I will add one to my bed at some point.

roxy1234: I have not had any noticable issues with the legs binding up, but then again, I have not needed to dis-assemble it since I first set it up. I doo have a center post to support the 3/4" platform.
