How to Make a Walnut Entertainment Center

Marc Spagnuolo is a furniture maker near Phoenix, Ariz., and host of the online woodworking video podcast, The Wood Whisperer. Spagnuolo became interested in woodworking by necessity while renovating his first home.

After reading every book and magazine he could, and experimenting with each new project, Spagnuolo pursued an apprenticeship with woodworking personality David Marks. Soon after, he left his job in the biotechnology industry to pursue a career in woodworking.
In this video workshop, Marc demonstrates that you don't need a lot of tools to build a your own custom entertainment center. All that's required are some basic tools, plywood and solid-wood lumber, and finishing products.
This project goes into detail on designing an entertainment center to accommodate cords and heat, cutting plywood to size with a circular saw, cutting joints with a router, edging plywood, assembly and glue-up, and finishing with stain and varnish.

How to build an entertainment center
1. Cut the Parts from Plywood
Cut a large sheet of plywood with a circular saw. Learn how to measure the saw base and properly locate guides.
2. Dadoes, Rabbets and Grooves
