Cherry & Spalted Curly Maple Console
comments (1) January 4th, 2009 in The GalleryThese delicate looking legs were initally 3" square chunks of cherry. (After bandsawing these to shape, I ended up with 4 more legs for another table.)
Twice two way and then four way bookmatched shopsawn veneer is one of the best figured, colored and spalted curly maple I have ever seen. The ironic part is... This piece of maple was literally picked up from the firewood pile!
The string along the border of the figured maple center, is 1/16" square ebony inlay. Maple veneers are 5/32" thick.
33" high, 46" wide, 16" deep.
