Details, Details -- Drawing Cockbead for a Bow Front Chest
comments (0) June 4th, 2012 in blogs
The other day I received an e-mail from a woodworker who was asking about how to draw the cockbead around the drawer openings on a bow front chest model he is working on. He managed to get the profile extruded on the drawer dividers but he was having trouble with verticals and the miteres corners. Here's the method I showed him.
In the video I am working off to one side of the model but if I was drawing this piece from scratch, I would draw the cockbeading in place around the drawer openings. It's a little more difficult to see what's happening in the low resolution of the video so I opted to work in space. My apologies for the clipping in the audio.
