Spalted maple and walnut side table

I made this table for my wife as a Christmas present. The spalted maple top came from a tree that went down on her grandparent's farm. We rescued the wood from my father in law's fire wood pile. The top is book matched. I sealed the ends of the spalted maple with 5-minute epoxy to try and stabilize them. The finish is Minwax oil based polyurethane. the base construction is walnut with mortise and tenon joints and hand cut dovetails for the drawer. I turned the knob from the same spalted maple to match the top. The secondary wood on the drawer sides is soft maple. The top is 17" x 10.5" and the table stands 23" high.
