Round Motorized Bar

This Bar was built using Maple and Brazilian Cherry veneer. The backing layer behind the round maple cabinet, that can be seen through the perforated holes, has a brushed aluminum finish. The circular cabinet was constructed with curved laminated plywood and contains a hidden motor to operate the 30" curved section of the round cabinet with the glass top to open and close automatically. A 30" pie section of the glass counter top slides and disappears into the stainless steel counter top. The upper curved wall has three curved glass shelves that are lit from behind with a fiber optic light source. All the aluminum parts to the motorized mechanism were engineered and fabricated to my own specifications right on the spot during the construction and engineering process at the wood shop. Special thanks to my old friend Harvey Altman for the motor, rack gear and all of the high tech special electronics that he provided to make this mechanism work so smoothly.
