Have you heard of the "Made By Hand Project"?

"MADE BY HAND was created out of the belief that the things we collect, consume, use, and share are part of who we are as individuals. For example, the food that we eat says something about each of us, as do the tools we use and the chairs we rest on. Objects that surround the space we dwell in tell stories, and not just about us. Where did they come from? Who made them? How were they made?"

The project began in Brooklyn, New York. They make short films promoting local makers who produce sustainable goods. More than just the products, MADE BY HAND aims to promote the makers themselves who, against many odds, work because of their passion to create something meaningful and their love for the craft.

The following is a ten minute short film titled, The Knife Maker. I hope this inspires you and reaffirms the path you have chosen and why you do what you do. I also hope that consumers will get inspired and support the craftsmen/women who create sustainable goods by hand each and every day.
