I have a small shop and do not have room for a permanent router table.  I have made a portable router table which I hang from the wall.  . It is based on designs I have seen from time to time in various woodworking magazines and TV shows.  When I need it I place it on my B&D workmate.

The router table is 19.5" wide by 29.5 inches long.  It is made from two pieces of 3/4 thick MDF laminated together for a total 1.5" thickness.  The edges are wrapped with 3/4" oak.  I have inlcuded a big visible and accesible on/off switch which the router is plugged into.

The top was routed out to hold the insert, whic is held in place by small permanent magnets glued into the top. The insert has 4 set screws  so that the insert can be adjsuted to be perfectly flush with the top.

I also have a shop built fence with a dust collection port.  The face of the fence is adjustable so that I can vary the size of the opennin. The fence is made from left over engineered oak flooring. The fence slides in two aluminum T-tracks.  When not in use I hang the fence from the wall where the router table hangs.

I sometimes get lazy and use the router table as a workbench or glue-up table, hence the staiins on th top.  One day I will cover it with some high pressure laminate.
