  1. The heart is a mobius strip. A mobius strip has one side and one edge. The heart was made by drilling holes on each side of a block of mahogany. The bottom of the holes defined the edge on the heart.

  2. Leaves were carved on the edge of the heart.  The surface has raised letters saying “David”, “Marcia”, “And thou”, “Shalt love”.

  3. The posts holding up the arch has a 180 degree twist.  The shape was defined using a radical arm saw to make a series of cross cuts. The bottom of the cross cuts defined the twist.
