Showing the inlay and handles that I made. The handles are doweled into the frame.

My wife volunteers at a local hospital and was asked to provide something for a silent auction. So I was tasked with making an easel and a tray. I had been looking for an opportunity to do some inlay work, so I took it and put inlay in both the tray and the easel. The inlay was bought from Highland Woodworking and the main wood is Ash.

The tray is a “golden triangle”, I make the frame first and got it level then I put them through the router using a 1/4" bit and cut the groove. Then I glued in the inlay leaving it over each eadge and cut them clean with a chisel before glue up.

The easel is a design I have used and keep improving over the last 6 year.
