LED strip lighting lights up the interior. It is switched on/off electronically by touching one of the hinges.
End view, showing bookmatched figured maple panels.
Dovetailed drawers, maple sides, alder bottom.
Closeup of carved leaf door pulls, bloodwood & ebony drawer pulls, and rainforest marble top.

Madrone sideboard, designed using cardboard mockups and SketchUp. Built from a madrone tree I cut & dried 25+ years ago. Side panels are figured maple; antique glass doors. Interior is birch plywood. The entire bottom is actually a torsion box, creating great rigidity and great load support. Finished with "Krenovian polish" (shellac). Construction time: 1 year. Great fun, but at times I thought it would never end!
