After I retired I moved to Muskoka and built my 28 x 40 dream shop. It has hydronic radiant floor heating that keeps me warm in the winter and a 10 foot ceiling that allows for larger pieces. There are two 8 foot windows that allow for great natural light and ventilation and a beautiful view of my yard. I spend about 30 hours a week in the shop building custom furniture. All the tools are on wheels that allows me to reconfigure as my needs change.
The shop also has a second floor where I have desk space and storage. I have plans to have a showroom/studio where I can provide space for local artists to display their work as well.

My work table often pulls double- and triple-duty for tons of shop tasks. Most often it's sharpening, but I also use it for drilling, holding bench hooks and shooting boards and occassionally as a chop-saw station. Hopefully soon, it will also hold a midi-lathe.
