I built this sofa from a set of plans for an outdoor chair.  I simply changed the width of the piece to 6 feet long and added another ottoman.  The tray between the ottomans is removable.  I actually cut the box joints on the 6 foot long pieces with a tablesaw and dado blade, not something I will try again!  The wood is mahogany with a small walnut accent in the arms to hide a glue joint.

Wixom Wixom writes: I thought I saw the plans for the chair and table in some other magazine, and sure enough, that magazine is sitting right on the table. I also enjoy reading that same magazine. By the way, since you made the furniture out of mahogany, you can keep them outside if you wanted to, since mahogany is an outdoors wood.
