The bouzouki and dreadnaught guitar are a couple of kit projects I've made. I will admit it was intimidating at first, but I always wanted to do this. Stewart McDonald makes excellent kits with top quality materials. Being a tool nut, like most people that indulge in woodworking, I did spend money on tools unique to the luthiery trade. But not all are necessary. So give it a try.
